TV Junkie: Doctor Who Season 5

No more David Tennant :( When I first started watching this season, I wasn't too sure how I felt about Matt Smith, but then I realised it's not that I didn't like him, it was the fact that he just wasn't David
Tennant! However, once I got back into the story, I did like Matt Smith. All the Doctor's have been very different, although the character is the same, each actor has brought something different to the show. Matt Smith was not what I expected him to be like, he was a lot funnier than I expected. He is actually a lot like Sherlock in this season I think, because he is just so eccentric and although he is extremely intelligent, he is actually really clueless sometimes to things that a 'normal' person would no how to react to. With a new Doctor, comes a new companion. In the first episode of this season, the Doctor lands in a little girl called Amy's garden in the night and she makes friends with the Doctor, however, the Doctor goes inside his tardis for what he thinks is just a few minutes, but then comes out to see that it has been a number of years and Amy has grown up. When he comes back to find her, she explains to him that it was like having an imaginary friend who disappeared and came back. Amy Pond is a cool character, she reminds me a bit like Rose in a way because she is more of a 'normal' character in a crazy situation and having to deal with people from her homelife who don't quite understand the doctor. Although Matt Smith is a funny character, I feel like the storylines in this season get a lot darker than usual, especially towards the end of the season, there is a lot more serious undertones in the episodes. This makes me so excited to see where the show is going because they are defiantly building up to something big!
